How can I get a simple job in the music industry?

I%26#039;m actually going to school to be a doctor but music is a passion and I would love to just be surrounded by it. Whats a job that I can just be somewhat involved in it and how could I go about doing so?|||Two words - american idol ;]|||word in a music/cd store|||write music on your free time
