Is it appropriate to offer evaluations from my current job in lieu of giving a reference name?

I have a job interview for which I anticipate needing references. I don%26#039;t want them to call anyone at my current job, but I do have a bunch of evaluations from my time there. Is it appropriate for me to offer copies of those?|||It will look like you have something to hide if you don%26#039;t provide a reference.

If you are worried they will call you reference, ask them not to do that until you have been offered the job.

What percentage of graduates find a job immediately after graduation?

One example is Cassandra%26#039;s story. As a 2005 graduate, she moved into her first home 2 days after her graduation and had a job lined up with a Fortune 500 company. Is this typical or exceptional?

I find that many graduates have to move back in with their parents. No longer does the bachelor degree serve as the fast track to financial security.|||less than 5%. this behavior is unrealistic. it generally takes grads anout 6 mos or longer to find a worthy company.|||doesnt matter. Really depends on your drive. the girl probably got a degree in like poetry. Thats a tuff degree to %26quot;find a job%26quot; in my opinion or even getting a statistic on. Why I say depends on your drive- if you study and worked during your undergrad then you are hired right off the bat. Jobs look for at least 1 year of experience which should be done while in college and not afterwards. Had to learn the hardway. the more you know the more jobs you can fill for. The less you know you have to learn to open new doors so to say. financial security, well we make it. the jobs dont find you unless you prove it with your grades in school probably by like an invention or something like those in MIT.

How do I retract my acceptance of a new job after I got a counteroffer from my current employer?

I accepted a job offer with my old boss. However, a week before my departure from my current job, I got a GREAT counteroffer from my current employer. What is the best way to go back to my old boss and retract my acceptance without burning bridges?|||He shouldn%26#039;t have a problem understanding...

I%26#039;m quite certain he already knows you%26#039;re only looking after your best interest. If he gives you an attitude, maybe he shouldn%26#039;t even be a boss to begin with|||Actually, I would recommend you spend some time thinking about why you wanted to leave your current employer in the first place. Is the counter-offer truly going to address all issues -- probably not. Most HR professionals will tell you that when an employee accepts a counter-offer to stay in a current position, they rarely last more than 6-12 months before again announcing that they are leaving for another opportunity.

Many employers feel somewhat betrayed by you looking elsewhere, no matter what they say to you directly. You went looking and didn%26#039;t tell them there were problems or that you were dissatisfied. You%26#039;ve done it once, what%26#039;s to say you won%26#039;t do it again?

If you were upset/dissatisfied/bored enough to go looking for a new job in the first place, then I%26#039;d take the offer with old boss and run with it.

Good luck|||There is nothing like telling the truth. You can assuage your old boss%26#039;s feelings by saying that if it does not work out you will let him know.

Peace and blessings!|||Honesty is the best policy hear. - Simply tell him that you have been countered to stay and that the money is to good to pass. He might actually counter again.

How long is the gap between job application and interview?

Hi, wondering usually how long is the gap of time between a written job application and a phone call for an interview (if they choose to call).

I%26#039;ve sent some cvs out, some about 2 weeks ago, some a week ago and some just very recently.

I%26#039;m curious as to treat some as rejections or maybe they%26#039;re still considering?|||You should always follow up with a call a few days after you submitted your resume. Sometimes they will call you within a week,... i had one job that called me back 7 months later. So just follow up with them, so that you know for sure if it is a rejection or if they won%26#039;t really be hiring for a few more months.

What to wear on an interview for an industrial job?

My brother has a job interview next week. The job is as a lead worker maintaining industrial machines. What would be good to wear for the interview? Would jeans be too casual? Should he wear khakis? Also, he despises polo shirts but I think a T-shirt would be too casual. Any suggestions?|||Even if it%26#039;s an industrial job, applicants should always dress up for interviews. He probably won%26#039;t be wearing a dress shirt and khakis on the job, but he%26#039;ll only score points for looking professional. Jeans and a T-shirt are too casual for a job interview, so go for a button-down, khakis and nice shoes (no sneakers or flip-flops).|||Dress nicer for the interview than you would ordinarily expect to dress on the job.|||suck it up and wear a polo...jeans and tshirt, big no no...polo and khakis should be good.|||http://knowinterview.blogspot.com/2008/0...

What should i do to prepare myself for my job interveiw at pizza hut tommorrow?

I have a job interveiw at pizza hut tomorrow at 4 and this is my first job, and first interveiw. What should i do to prepare myself for it

. ANd what should i where to it? Would some nice jeans and a polo shirt be fine. OR should i where some nicer slacks.

I have never had an interveiw before so help me out guys.|||No jeans. Slacks are good. Try and think of the questions they are going to ask beforehand so you are prepared. for Example they are going to ask why you want to work there. Don%26#039;t answer %26quot;to make money%26quot;. Say something that fits into the company%26#039;s ideals. Don%26#039;t chew gum. Say yes sir/ma%26#039;am when asked questions. Make sure your hair is neat and trimmed. Be 15 minutes early. Shake hands with everybody you meet/interview with and look them in the eyes. Make sure you are audible when you speak. No matter what happens at the end of the interview thank them for their time.|||Why did you post this twice? LOL.

Well I never worked for Pizza Hut but I can pretty much tell you the basics.

First off, and the most important.. GO DRESSED TO IMPRESS! Most employers know within 30 seconds if they are going to hire you. I know it%26#039;s Pizza Hut, but that doesn%26#039;t change anything. Dress very nice, hair done, showered.. and colonge, but nothing too strong. Basically how you get dressed up on holiday events that your parents make you go to. lol.

This is your first job, so they aren%26#039;t expecting a resume, but have you done any community service? If you have, I would suggest making up a resume.. they will be shocked! All you need to put is a objective, something simple since it is your first job (you can look those up online), your education (just what high school you are attending) and then your volunteer work.

But you don%26#039;t have to do that, it%26#039;s your first job.. so no worries.

But basically they will ask why do you want to work for Pizza Hut (I%26#039;ve always liked the customer service and the people that work here look like they really enjoy it. I%26#039;ve never had a job before so Pizza Hut looks like a fun great job, and one that will prepare me for other career paths I choose to take in the future) you know what I%26#039;m saying?

Don%26#039;t worry. Just be yourself, and go in with a smile, and you will do fine!!

At the end of the interview they usually ask %26quot;Do you have any questions?%26quot; please ask him %26quot;What is the next step of this hiring process%26quot; so that you know what%26#039;s to come. Then he/she will tell you, then ask for a contact number that you can contract them directly. If they say they will call by Friday, Friday afternoon, call them. If they don%26#039;t give you a date, call 2 days from tomorrow asking for the status of your application.

Don%26#039;t worry, they know it%26#039;s your first job and they understand you have no experience. THey still called you in for a interview, and they never had to-remember that! Good Luck!!! You%26#039;ll be fine!!!|||%26quot;Casual Office%26quot; no jeans.

Your hygiene will matter as will speaking clearly. Know the reason you want to work there - because they will probably ask.

I would like to find a job before moving to a new state, what is the best way to do this?

I plan on moving from Chicago area to the Atlanta area this summer, but I would like to have a job secured before making that move. What is the best way to go about this since I%26#039;m not currently residing in the area? How do I address this in my cover letter? Are companies willing to do phone interviews? I will have a time frame to visit for interviews. Plus when should I start looking if I don%26#039;t plan on living there until July or Aug? Any information will be helpful.|||I moved to a new location last summer and I went through what you will be going through. I%26#039;m going to try to answer each of your questions as best as I can.

The best way for you to go about finding a job in Atlanta, is to search online. Visit websites like craigslist.org, monster.com, and hotjobs.com. Post your resume, apply to different positions. Also, if the position you%26#039;re looking for is specialized, there may be staffing firms that will be interested in working with you. Search online for Atlanta staffing firms, send in your resume, CALL them up (make the first move because they may not call you first), and establish a relationship with the recruiters. Explain your situation to them, and they will be able to help you in your job search. What%26#039;s good about working with staffing agencies is that you don%26#039;t have to pay and they will constantly be on the lookout for you since they want you to get the job (a job for you means money for them).

Towards the end of your cover letter, you may want to state something that goes: %26quot;Although I currently live in Chicago, please note that I am willing and able to relocate at my own expense.%26quot; Unless you%26#039;re very experienced, offer to pay for relocation yourself. If a company is looking to hire, they will prefer locals who can come to an interview within a few days and those who don%26#039;t need relocation assistance. If you offer to cover the expenses yourself, you will put yourself at an advantage. I did it and it worked for me. I don%26#039;t have tons of experience in my field so I had to do something to make my resume be seen in the same light as those from the area.

Many companies nowadays do screening interviews over the phone. These interviews are conducted to %26quot;test%26quot; out the candidate. If successful, the screening interview is followed up with an in-person interview. Again, do not think you can get a job unless you can visit the area. It is important for you to interview in person. Save up some money if you can for this whole %26quot;job relocation%26quot; thing and go from there. If you expect to phone interview alone, you have a long road ahead of you. It can even be in your best interest when preparing your cover letter to say something along the lines of %26quot;if you are interested in meeting with me, I will be in the Atlanta area from ____ to ____.%26quot; That puts a bit of pressure on the company to really get you in if they are interested in you. But of course, always remain flexible if you want to land the job.

As for when to start looking - do it now. College seniors line up jobs for when they graduate and so can you. If you%26#039;re so lucky to be offered a position next week, it will be a stretch to start in the summer, but you never know. The important thing is that you want to use the time you have. Start looking now to test the waters. You never know when you may get a job so start the hunt as early as you can.

I wish you the very best. Sorry this was so long, but I really hope that it was helpful.|||You can do some online search for the type of position you are applying for. Monster.com, the city newspaper, flipdog.com, careersearch.com, etc. Also do some networking. If you know someone that lives in the city/state you want to move to, ask them about some companies that may be hiring. Some companies give signing bonuses to employees who are willing to relocate and work for them. When you prepare your cover letter state in it that you are moving to that city and when you plan to move there. Some companies will do telephone interviews. They usually will do that after they receive your resume%26#039; and want to consider you as a candidate for the position. You can start your search now. That way you have time to narrow down some places/companies you are interested in working for.|||1. Try CareerBuilder, HotJobs, Monster, and Craigslist.

2. They may do some phone interview but I have never heard of a firm hiring sight unseen - you may need to travel out there, and I%26#039;d schedule a couple of days where you do all your interviews in the same time period.

3. Start 2-3 months in advance.

Just say in your CL that you are relocating to the ATL area and ...(insert the rest of your standard CL).|||You could earn money by doing customer service work from home;answering and making phone calls for companies like WorkathomeAgent,Cloud10 Corp,Auralog, etc. These are genuine companies and do not ask you for any upfront payment. You might find info on http://tinyurl.com/ze4lg very useful.|||Hey,

I live in the ATL. One of the best places to look for a job is www.AJC.com/jobs. That is our local papers website.

I am a Realtor, and TRUST me when I say we have A LOT of relocators coming into the are. I am sure most businesses in the area would have a system in place for dealing with out of town people looking to relocate. This is especially true if you are further a long in your career.

I would start sending out your resumes in April.

It would also help if you know some people that live in the area, and you could give them a heads up so they can start looking out for you.

Hope that helps, good luck!|||try making money online|||It depends on what option you want to exercise. There are the websites that allow you to post resumes such as monster, career builder, and then company web sites that let you apply online. Your best bet would be to look for a job fair sometime in the next couple of months to happen in Atlanta and attend. When companies come to a job fair they come with positions to fill so you will almost always walk away with an offer. The more interviews you manage to land while there the better the chances you%26#039;ll have and you will have all of those companies at your disposal in one spot. Or as a last resort you could use a job placement agency, but that could come out of your pocket over the first year of employment. Phone interviews are a case by case basis depending on your %26#039;fit%26#039; and %26#039;qualifications%26#039;. As to when, NOW. You never know what might pop up and how willing someone will be to work with you.

How many jobs have you had? Have you ever quit a job before having another one lined up?

How did that work out? If you found yourself alone and broke in a large city, like LA or New York or Chicago (you know, a large city), what kind of job would you look for. OK. You are not completely broke. You have 3 grand in the bank. I know that this is a lot of questions. Deal with it.|||Yes, i had been working for this company for the better part of two years and it had gotten increasingly bad. It was very anti-climactic but one day it just got to be too much. How much do I have to make at a job before I have to report it on my taxes?

I had a job at the beginning of the year for a brief amount of time before the business more or less folded. I have not yet recieved a W2 (I know I have some time left), and I%26#039;m worried I may not get one. However, I really didn%26#039;t make that much money at this job, and I remember reading somewhere that if you make less than a certain amount, you don%26#039;t have to report it on your taxes. Is that true? If so, what is that amount?|||The limit if you%26#039;re claimed as a dependent is $5150. If you%26#039;re single and not a dependent, it%26#039;s $8450. Other statuses have other limits. These assume that you were an employee and had social security and medicare taxes withheld. If they weren%26#039;t withheld, then you%26#039;re considered as self-employed and would have to file if you made at least $400.

Note that these limits are for the total of all jobs you had in 2006, not just an individual one if you also had others.

If you don%26#039;t get a W-2 from the company, but have your last pay stub, you%26#039;ll need to talk to the IRS but will be able to file based on that paystub.|||If your total income for the year was less than $600, you do not have to pay taxes. You may have to file a return to get a refund of any taxes paid. If, however, you earned more than $600 from any and all sources combined, you must report all income from any source. If you do not receive a W-2, pay taxes and file based on the information on your last pay stub from that employer ... which I am sure you saved in a safe place.|||Doesn%26#039;t anybody read their tax booklets any more?

Single taxpayers under 65 do not have to file a return unless their income is more than $8,450.

People that are self-employed must make at least $400.

There are other situations that would require you to file.

Even if you%26#039;re not required to file a return, you should, so you can get back what you paid in, plus maybe the EIC.|||wrong. any W-2 based income must be reported regardless of amount. 1099 self-employed income of $600 is different scenario.|||I%26#039;m pretty sure that it%26#039;s anything under $600, although one place of employment sent my husband W-2%26#039;s for one day%26#039;s worth of work. (He quit after the first day..... bad, bad place.)|||I don%26#039;t think it is true. Everyone with income must file. You may also be eligible for earned income credit if the income is below certain threshold. So, you may get paid by Uncle Sam in some cases. Check it out tax prep online services such as the ones listed here with some great deals http://www.redtagdeals.com/tax_preparati...|||legal earning will be taxable but under the table won%26#039;t be, so u have to report it on ur taxes if u get legit paycheck.

What questions are asked in a job group interview or how does it work any ideas?

Can any one let me know how it works and what questions might be asked? I have never done a group interview before and not sure what to expect. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.|||The questions are about the same. What they tend to do in group interviews is they will switch off on questions and one watches your reactions and assesses you while the other asks the questions.|||1.Tell me about a time when you successfully conveyed your ideas to an individual or group so that they were able to understand and retain the message.

What do foreigners have to go through in order to get a job in England?

I%26#039;m an American and would love to live in England for a year or so and perhaps go to college there. Does anyone know how I could get a job? Do people from other countries have a lot of difficulty getting jobs in England? Would I have to go through a lot of paperwork because I%26#039;m a foreigner? What kind of writing job should I aim for?

I have a BA in Japanese language and Literature, and although I can understand Jap%26#039;anese pretty well, I%26#039;m still far from fluent. My interests are: music, japanese language %26amp; culture, animals, and different languages %26amp; cultures. Also as a bonus question, what are some good entry-level writing jobs that I should aim for? Thanks in advance!|||first you should know that, are you able to work in JAPAN or not? and if u answer this question (yes) then everything is easy for you.... but sometimes It is not necessary that you will get the same job you want, but there are certain levels in your career.First you have to pass the initials levels then you will be promoted to your designated level. There are several jobs seekers in different fields but sometime what they are aiming for is the last and the highest level of their career...so you have to be patience, try out anykind of job comes in your way in order to get experience, then gradually turns to your desired level.|||I%26#039;m certainly far from an expert in this area. But since writing jobs are usually in high demand and often not highly paid, you should probably focus in on this highly specialized area of Japanese. I would think you could hone your Japanese skills and then aim for a career in translating between Japanese and English. I have heard that translators are in demand and I believe there are jobs transcribing films, literature and other forms of art between Japanese and English. Might be an area to look into. Good Luck!!!!|||i think that the best way to get into writing is to write...you are already doing that and it%26#039;s great...i think that you should not be looking for a specific position or job... you should probably concentrate on getting a job (any job you would be able to do) within the industry...try publishing companies...or media...they can make you an editor or give you an opportunity to write their content

About my job...What would you do if you liked your job and the people you worked with, but just not the shift?

I am a ICU nurse who works the 7p to 7a shift with no chance of moving to the day shift. I like my co workers and am mildly satisfied with my job. The pay is good, its close to home. But I am 25, and have been a nurse for 5 years and am like, I%26#039;ve seen everything I need to see being in the hospital setting. I am considering travel nursing just because I figure I should go and see the world before I get married or have kids. Just so I can see other places and see where I want to settle down. But I%26#039;m comfortable. I own my own home here, have family and friends, What should I do??? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.|||I do not know why you %26quot;have no chance to move to another shift%26quot;. Nurses are very much in demand, and it sounds like you should be able to write your own ticket, if not there where you are, in another hospital. A question to ask yourself, is %26quot;Do I want to move, as in sell my house and go elsewhere? Or would just traveling to different countries satisfy that need? You could also rent out your house and then try it for some months in another state and see if that is what you want. Or even go to another country and work for a while, seeing the country on the weekends and after work. You are young, and yes, you should see some of the world before you settle down.|||Take a look at your employee manual. Look for a sabbatical or an extended leave of absence. I am turning 16 in about 2 weeks, and I am looking to get a job right away. I talked to my dad and he says that I may need some work papers from the town that at least proves my birthday and age. A lot of times, Doctor%26#039;s offices or other local businesses will contact high schools regarding available after school or weekend employment. This is a great way to get your foot in the door in a professional enviornment, rather than going the retail or hospitality route. Working papers can usually be obtained right in your high school guidance office, or main office. When you go in to whatever location you decide is right for you, remember - dress neatly (no jeans, shorts, t-shirts, or flip flops). Dress as you would for church, or a family wedding. Look your future employer in the eye and introduce yourself. Know the company, or business, that you are applying to. Have at least 3 references - since you don%26#039;t have a previous work history, I would recommend teachers, counselors, or other professional people that can recommend you. Don%26#039;t chew gum. Be sure to come prepared with an explanation as to why you want to work there - don%26#039;t say for the money. Perhaps, it is to learn about business, or to begin obtaining office skills such as typing, filing, etc.

I%26#039;ve played Santa before at kids Xmas parties in hospitals and university halls and would like to continue doing so! I%26#039;m based in London and have a police CRB check. I do not have my own costume unfortuantely :( All help gratefully received!|||Call around to local malls, hospitals, and maybe even city hall. Ask them if they are hiring a Santa for the holidays. Also, you could call employment agencies. They may be your best bet. You could even run an ad in your local paper, advertising that you would like to play Santa for their business. You probably need to purchase a Santa suit. I would look in the %26quot;want ads%26quot; of the local paper, and call consignment shops, to see if you can find a good deal on a Santa suit. Good Luck!|||Call employment agencies.

What kind of employment options available for someone who has never had a job?

I am a 24 year old college student in the USA. I never had a job nor volunteered or had extracuricular activities, but I am now in a situation where I need to take a break from college for one semester and get a job. Other than McDonalds or grocery store jobs, what other job options do I have?

Note: I can%26#039;t register for classes next semester because I owe my college money and can%26#039;t register until it has been paid.|||Try working through a temporary employment agency. Surely you have some skills that could be applied. Whatever you do, be reliable and consistent. I hire people all the time.|||I guess it depends on what you have been in school for. I would recommend (easiest and quickest) is to get comfortable talking to people and reading up on customer service and sales. I know a lot people hear the word sales and immediately withdraw but what most people don%26#039;t know is the huge amounts of money that can be made here and even if you posses mediocre selling skills, you can get a customer service job that requires up selling...easy. Since, I don%26#039;t know what you%26#039;ve been studying, I would recommend that you join an online community that will help grow in this area. I recommend myhibrid.com...it%26#039;s free and has lots of good stuff in it and is updated frequently.

How early should I start applying for a job when relocation is required?

I plan on moving across country in a year. There is a company where I%26#039;m moving that I wish to work for, which currently has job openings. How early should I start applying? Is a year too long for a company to wait as a start date? I just want the security of having a job when I move.|||Unless your in a super demand field, a year is way to early to start applying. When a company has an opening they are looking to fill it right away, in some cases they may wait a few month, but even then it%26#039;s too long. You should start looking closer to when you will move and have an estimated date of living there. Unless your moving date is flexible like if a perfect job came up, you could move sooner, wait until it%26#039;s more realistic when you will be there. You might also be able to find help in relocating w/job placement agency, or use a head hunter, there are options out there to help you find a job when your move is in a more realistic time frame. Good Luck!

What are important things to look for in a good job?

I have a good paying job with no benefits. My fear is going to a job with good benefits would cut my pay drastically and I would hate my work environment. So what are important things to look for in the new job?|||If you don%26#039;t need benefits then I say stay where you are. If you do need benefits then you might take a bit of hit in salary but can make up for it with things like an employer match of a 401(k).

What do I think makes a good job?

You like what you do.

You like going to work every day.

You work for people who respect you.

You are treated well by your supervisors and your co-workers.

An easy commute (important to me).

Good health insurance coverage (I have a family).

Retirement plan.

You aren%26#039;t going to know if you will hate a new enviroment until you are there. You can get a feel for a company%26#039;s culture during the interview but often that is like a first date. Everyone is on their best behavior and you don%26#039;t find out how things really are until you are in the relationship for a while.

What is the key to standing out when job searching?

I have a nice resume, clean appearance, good solid long term job experience, customer service and Industrial, military experience, good references, drug free, no felonies and I can%26#039;t find a job that pays more than $10. Any suggestions?|||Resume - cater your skills to whatever job you are seeking (don%26#039;t lie though). You may have a slightly different resume per job based on the skills you want to highlight

Interview - You have to have you basic marketing platform. Have at least 3 point you want to highlight, and state them at the beginning of the interview, give examples during the interview, and reiterate it at the end of the interview.

Last advice - don%26#039;t give up and don%26#039;t settle until you find exactly what you are looking for.

Read: What Color is Your Parachute (excellent book!!!)|||To be the odd one out (usually the person that gets hired) You need to be kind of funny. Outspoken or however it is. OF course to a professional level, but it helps when you can make the boss laugh, you catch my drift? They rather have someone great, then the average boring joe that does his job.... Character, that%26#039;s it. give them character.

How do you apply/look for a teaching job in NYC?

I am from PA and I just got my degree as a high school history teacher. I am planning on moving to NYC to look for a job teaching. Any tips? Where do I look for job openings? Is there a website or somewhere to find out more info? What type of certifications/tests do I have to take? What is the salaray for NYC teachers? Any areas in particular?

Any other tips?|||If you want to teach in NYc your best bet is to go to the Teach NYC website. They have all salary info, requirements, job fair info, etc there. Job fairs are your best way of getting a job there as they do not post future jobs on a steady basis. Information on scheduling an interview also there. Certification is a lengthy process but reciprocity agreements with PA should take care of that. You should check their website asap so you will be realy for Sept.

Good luck.|||The cost of living in New York is terrible (I live in upstate New York). There are lots of jobs in New York City schools, but a lot of the schools have tough populations.

If you are thinking spys that%26#039;s mostly the CIA and the job would very based on mission criteria but could be things such as reporter, health or aid worker. Sometimes they have embasy jobs. How do you handle a job interview question in which you have no experience?

For example, the job interviewer asks your experience on budgeting, but you have little or no experience with it. How do you answer the question?|||Be honest.

In the case you noted above, the interviewer says %26quot;Do you have any experience in budgeting?%26quot; you can respond like this....

No, I don%26#039;t have any formal experience in budgeting, but I did work within budgets while attending school, preparing to purchase a car, etc. and although I know that they are not the same in terms of details, the concept of researching out the income and expense limits and working within them is the same.

The worst thing you can do is lie, and this is for three reasons. First, it%26#039;s unethical. Second, if you don%26#039;t know budgets and that is what you end up doing for the majority of your job, it%26#039;s going to show (and usually in a really bad way). Third, if you end up doing budgets and you can do them but hate them, you%26#039;re stuck doing a job that you hate.

Anyway, good luck!|||Say you are eager to learn and are easily taught.|||If this is a requirement for the job, you will be in trouble if you have no experience. If this is a management position, budget responsibility usually goes with the territory, so if you%26#039;ve been in management without gaining experience in budgeting, you will be at a disadvantage. You may be able to extrapolate from experiences in managing the financial impact of your work. Or, if you%26#039;ve clearly held more junior positions in the past, you can say just that, but indicate that you%26#039;ve a keen interest in the subject and have sought as much knowledge as possible.|||I think you%26#039;re going to have to tell the truth and say you have no actual experience in it. If the interviewer asks you and you convince him you have experience when you do not, it will show further down the line in some form or another. Believe me I know.

You could also add %26quot;I am more than willing to learn about the use of budgeting in this role and won%26#039;t let you down.%26quot; Or something along those lines.

How do you deal with job interview jitters?

When I am at a job interview I get the usual nervous sweats, heart palpitations, and I start to lose my train of thought. I don%26#039;t know of anybody who doesn%26#039;t get nervous during an interview though, there is that burning question in the back of our brains at the time of the interview asking %26quot;what if I mess up%26quot; or %26quot;what if I say something really dumb%26quot; or %26quot;what if they just don%26#039;t like me%26quot;? Try to just relax, breathe, and focus on the good things you are saying!|||breathe|||I have done a lot of job interviews...and been offered jobs most of the time. The main thing is prepare. If you are prepared you will not be nervous. And if you are not nervous you will do well.

Preparation techniques

- Think of answers to common questions. Depending on the job there will be certain questions to expect. Literally rehearse them out loud.

- Research the company, and have confidence you will be a good employee.

- Always be on time, and dressed really well.

But the main thing about the interview is to have prepared answers to common questions...

- Tell us about you weeknesses / strengths.

- Tell us how you will settle disputes with co-workers and customers.

- Tell us when you went beyond what was expected at a job.

And many other common questions. Maybe look at the job sites for more questions to expect. Also have fun with it, make a personal connection to the person doing the interview. And you will get better and more relaxed each time.|||Best thing to do is relax. If you are a good worker and are very knowledgable in your field; they don%26#039;t hire you. Look at as their loss, not yours. Just be as truthful as possible and act confident without being cocky. Find out as much about the company as possible. What kind of services do they provide? Who are their affliates or subsidiaries? How long have they been in business? Who is the president? Observe how things are operated and if they don%26#039;t seem to be efficient I would be looking elsewhere anyway.|||Realize that you don%26#039;t run the show, but you should have the job-

because, by golly, you%26#039;re good enough, smart enough and noone else wants that job as much as you!|||Masturbate 10 or 15 min before helps you relax|||just be urself.|||Practice. Go to Monster and there are lists of common interview questions. Have an example for many of them. You can use the same example for a few but mix it up. No one likes to hear the same story over and over. Remember its just like telling a story. Most of all, be yourself. Let them see who they are really getting if they hire you.

What job is this? I want a job where I can help develop programs for social service organizations.?

I am interested in developing programs for social services, not necessarily working directly with people as a therapist. I would rather be the one helping to put the programming in place.

What job would this be, and what should I major in to get there?|||Well for starters , you need to determine which social services you are going to target: family; children; teenagers; seniors; homeless; mental illness; Basically you would need a Masters in Social Work with a minor in Political Science. You have to understand what the needs of your target group is in order to develop a program. Most programs are developed after conducting surveys of social and economic conditions and analyzing services available and identifying any gaps in services. This is where the programs are identified and developed based on a community need. Since nothing happens without money you will also need an understanding of the grant writing process and since most grants given are based on their merit to provide a needed community service you also have to back up your request with lots of data. Then you have to find a site to conduct a pilot project and identify if your program is working or needs some improvements. A program is never static but always evolving, sometimes to meet the political flavor of the day. The Political Science part comes when you have to understand the politics involved and the lobbying sometimes associated with getting grants to develop a program. Anyhow its a long process but gives a warm fuzzy feeling when you see the program making a difference in peoples lives.... Good Luck...|||That would be a %26quot;Mover %26amp; Shaker.%26quot;

How do I find a job doing photo retouching work?

I would like to find a job as a photo retoucher. Where do I start?|||You%26#039;ve got some good answers already, I just have a couple of notes to add.

In the U.S. (probably everywhere), networking is absolutely the best way to get a job. Hands down. No question. So make sure that your family and friends know you are looking for a job as a photo retoucher.

Go to local photo club meetings, if there are any (do a Yahoo search), Web developer groups, or other group of potential co-enthusiasts or clients. Meet people. Once a year doesn%26#039;t work - be an active member. Volunteer. The best job to have is checking people in for meetings - gives you a no pressure way to meet everyone who attends.

* Craigslist.org - http://www.craigslist.org

As mentioned, Craigslist can be very effective. It%26#039;s a giant online classifieds site, organized by location, with the opportunity to post a resume, which you can do in HTML to include the links mentioned above. 2 problems with Craigslist (both manageable):

1.) Privacy - even in a job hunt you want to protect your privacy (identity). So identify yourself only with an %26quot;anonymous%26quot; type e-mail address (like @yahoo.com or @msn.com, etc.) and an unlisted phone number like, hopefully, your cell phone. Google your phone number to see if it%26#039;s unlisted. If it%26#039;s not, don%26#039;t use it.

2.) Re-posting - you%26#039;ll need to keep reposting your resume because Craigslist operates like a newsgroup - newest listings at the top, oldest at the bottom. They seem to drop off the bottom in about 30 days, so just repost every 30 days to stay in the search results.

* Indeed.com - http://www.indeed.com

Indeed is a job aggregator, collecting job postings off the giant sites (Monster, HotJobs, CareerBuilder), the niche sites and other small sites, and employer sites.

I just did a quick Indeed search on %26quot;photo retouching%26quot; (with the quotes), and Indeed found 91 results (which is very low for Indeed). However, the employers included Time Warner, Aquent, and AOL!

Good luck!|||I went to my local genealogical society and offered to do a presentation on photo retouching. This has brought me several ongoing projects. If you%26#039;re looking for more of a normal job, check with local photographers or photo labs.|||Ad agencies, design studios.|||I love craigslist for that sort of thing. How does one get a job as a copy clerk at a paper such as the Chicago Tribune?

So many newspaper reporters have gotten %26quot;in%26quot; by starting as a copy clerk. Do copy clerks even exist anymore? Do you have to know someone (in the typical Chicago style of cronyism and nepotism) in order to get a job as a copy clerk at the Trib? What would be a good job to introduce me to the art therapy field?

I have a strong interest in the field, but want experience before I apply for a graduate program. I have a degree in studio art and art history. I am currently employed, but unsatisfied and looking for a new job. I want to find something related to this field, and I figure that now (being unsatisfied with current work situation) would be an ideal time. Thanks in advance.|||I would suggest getting a Recreation Therapy certificate or diploma (called an Associates Degree in the U.S.). You may be able to study PT or by distance, with on-site clincal of course.

There are also 4 year programs offered at universities leading to a degree in this area in some cases.

Since you already have a degree of some sort, I would explore the 1-2 year option (certificate or diploma) first.

You can also volunteer at the local hospital to gain experience and insight in the meantime. They always want volunteers for lonely patients (adults and children).

Good luck!

What is the best way to find an education related job out of the academic environment?

I have a friend who has been teaching writing and English at a university for 15 years, but is looking for a change.

He specialized in %26quot;service learning%26quot;, meaning that he taught a class on a given subject, then participated in a related service project (volunteering locally, traveling to other countries to help the poor, etc). He wants to continue with this work, but he really needs a better paying job -this sort of work doesn%26#039;t pay much. He is also reluctant to give up his current vocation (not wanting to believe that all of his academic work was in vain) .

Are there any sort of non-academic positions out there for someone like this? I would really like to help him in his job search, but don%26#039;t have the slightest idea as to where to look. He is such a stellar guy that I know he would do well in whatever he chose to do...but I think he needs some help in finding a job that is more %26quot;out of the box%26quot;.

Any ideas?

Thanks!|||A good %26quot;out of the box%26quot; way for your friend to earn money would be to either freelance or get a job with a company that teaches business writing through seminars for professional.

If he is well-spoken and somewhat dynamic, he could probably even start his own business consulting companies on;

public speaking

business writing

business communication

There is a high demand for this type of training- basically teaching people why its innapropriate to use LOL in a business email

What are the possibilities for a foreigner to get a job in the UK?

My girlfriend is English, and I%26#039;m trying to find a job there, so we can live together.

I have already finished my Bachelor%26#039;s Degree in International Business, I speak 4 languages.

Is it possible for me to get a decent job? If so, what are the kind of jobs I could get. I want to make a good living to live with my partner.

I%26#039;m 22 years old, I met my girlfriend there in the UK.

Thank you.|||Ok Mr Beertlebum

There eare several way on which one can approach this, depending upon your own perspective od course.

May I first congratulate you on your diverse language skills and Business skills qualifications, in particular multi lingual people are a rareity here in the UK, you obviously communicat good English so I commend you there too.

You will have no problem finding an excellent well paid job of over $40k UK pounds as you have attained your qualifications in all of the right areas.

Enough of my gibberish Here are your options old boy.

You will first need to find out the Visa requirements of a Mexican citizen visiting the UK and then apply for a visitors Visa

There is what is called an unlimited right to remain as a partner of a UK citizen (you can apply for that from the UK and get married here later but it%26#039;s not neccessary to get married) (you will need proof of living together for 2 years (rents, electric bills, water rates council tax, gas, telephone etc, either in joint names or at the same address. (the application is 400 uk ponds nby post 3 -4 weeks or same week 600 pounds decision same week too.

There is also a spousal visa, this has to be applied for from your home country (Mexico), takes a few months depending on the country and documents required.

Go Here http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/servlet/Front?...

If you come as a visitor no Visa is required so I can tell you it will be the same as my case with a US citizen. unlimited right to remain as a partner of a UK citizen (you can apply for that from the UK jus make sure you are here legally before you apply, if it is just before the expiry of your Visa it is fine, they allow you to overstay until they make their decision.

Good Luck (I prefer mexico to here though)|||check this link its good

What job is lucrative, Requires creative ability and people skills, not entirely computer work, not repetitive

Is taking on a second job actually profitable?

John works a 40 hour a week job and is thinking of taking on a second weekend job. However, he%26#039;s concerned that the small income he%26#039;ll make at the second job will just be a waste because it%26#039;ll knock him into a higher tax bracket and just screw him over during tax time. John has a wife and one child to claim, but will not qualify for EIC. Will taking on a low-income second job really not be worth the time because of this?|||Unless he is in a marginal tax bracket that is greater than 100% which he is not, having a second job will bring more money to the household after taxes are considered.|||Sure, there are times when $1 in additional income can increase your taxes several hundred dollars. If for example he qualifies for a Savers Credit of $200, but he goes out and earns $50 working one weekend, and that disqualifies him from the Savers Credit, he has earned $50 and lost $200.

He will need to go over all of his tax issues, including deductions and credits, as well as the increase in income taxes owed, before deciding if the extra income is going to benefit him.|||You also need to consider other variables ..... transportation costs, babysitter, food, dry cleaning, time, etc. add all of these to the tax situation and it might not pay to have that second job. Use the time to attend night school and earn a degree and get a better / higher paying job.|||any accountant can explain to you the tax brackets, without you stating specific income amounts, you%26#039;d have to speak with your accountant. my guess is that if you need a second weekend job, you%26#039;re not making very much money during the week, so you probably won%26#039;t get put into a higher tax bracket.|||As we have a progressive tax system, you can not possibly come out behind by making more money.|||If he does not qualify for EIC anyway so there%26#039;s no chance of losing money because of that, he%26#039;ll definitely keep a large portion of the additional money after taxes. Only he can determine what additional costs he might have such as transportation, and what the extra time is worth for him.

Being %26quot;knocked into a higher tax bracket%26quot; isn%26#039;t really a consideration, although many people misunderstand how tax brackets work. He%26#039;ll pay the same on his already existing income. If his additional income takes him into a higher bracket, the only income he%26#039;ll pay the higher rate on is the part of the additional income that goes into the higher bracket.|||Perhaps, depends on the hours, the hourly wage, the distance traveled back and forth, etc......Sometimes it%26#039;s best to just budget yourself and cut costs at home. Not worth the extra money if your dead tired all the time and have no time to spend with family cause your always working.|||Even if he were in a higher tax bracket, he could do things like contribute to a tax deductible IRA or some such.

Plus if you are taking on a second job to pay down high interest credit cards or loans, there is no way this wouldn%26#039;t be a good idea.|||Of course he%26#039;s going to make more money. Where do you think you live? Sweden?

The question though, is is it worth it? Why not just jump off a bridge? I mean really, why live life if you can%26#039;t spend time with your loved ones? That is the beauty behind social systems that work. Did you know Germans have a minimum, MINIMUM ! of 6 weeks paid vacation per year? That goes for the janitors too. New mothers... a year maternity leave! And that goes for most of north western europe.

Progressive tax system my ****.|||You can make lots of money. Even though you will get screwed come tax time at least the $ is sitting in your account collecting interest.

What does a pharmacia tech do on their job?

Please only answer this question if you have actually been a pharmacy tech or have talked with someone who has been a pharmacy tech.

I know that a pharmacy technician is basically an assistant to a pharmacist. But what job duties are they typically responsible for on that type of job?

I realize that they typically get the prescription and handle the cash transactions from the customers. They also check insurance information and make sure that is updated in the computer. Besides that, what else does a pharmacy tech handle? Do they actually process the actual prescriptions, such as pulling the pills from the dispenser into the small bottles, or any other issues relating to that?

Do they need to understand medical terminology or chemistry?|||Pharmacy technicians are becoming more and more important in the practice of pharmacy, especially in retail settings (Walgreen%26#039;s, CVS). Requirements vary per state laws, but there is a national exam that can be taken (PTCB) which will help to learn the basic requirements of a tech.

Some responsibilities of a tech include interpreting and entering data on prescriptions, counting and filling the medication, calling doctor%26#039;s offices for refill approval, resolving insurance issues, and completing cash register transactions. Advanced tech may also participate in compounding prescriptions and IV admixtures. Techs also participate in the business of a pharmacy, including inventory control and doctor detailing calls.|||Check with state laws in your area first.

Techs have an opportunity to learn about drugs. The more you know about medical terminology the better. There are pharmacy tech training programs here in California.

Here, techs fill the scripts under the supervision of a pharmacist but I know from experience that the supervision doesn%26#039;t mean they are actually watching you. I believe as long as they are %26#039;on site%26#039; that qualifies as supervision. It would be great experience if you%26#039;re looking to become a pharmacist.

There%26#039;s a huge responsibility here and training and attention to detail is essential. Recently there were cases where techs filled the wrong script and people died. I think that was in NY so this area is being carefully evaluated.

How do I find a job as a merchandiser or vendor for a department store?

I have worked in a department store for about a year now, have other sales experience, and a degree in Fine Arts. I would like to put out and organize merchandise in department stores. How is the job market for recent college grads in Boston?

I recently finished university degrees in business and finance and am thinking about moving to Boston.

Is Boston%26#039;s economy strong right now? Is it relatively easy to land a decent job or is there extreme competition for every available position? Do the available jobs tend to be good enough to make up for the high cost of living there?

I%26#039;ve been in places where jobs were plentiful (e.g. Raleigh) and places where they were scarce (e.g. Portland, OR), but I have no idea what Boston is like right now.

Thanks!|||The thing about New England is that the distances are very short. You could easily live in New Hampshire or Rhode Island and commute to a job inside of I495.

The cost of living is goes down dramatically if you live outside of I495. I live in NH, on the seacoast and drive to a job in the Boston area. My home cost under $300K and I live a mile from the beach. I drive a hybrid, so my weekly gas bill is less than $30, yet I drive in excess of 400 miles a week. Granted I spend 10+hours a day away from home, and my cars are throw aways.

All things bio-technology are hot in Boston right now. Look at a trade rag online called Mass High Tech. www.masshightech.com. This will give you insight to whats happening in the business world around the area.|||My honest suggestion, it%26#039;s a great city, but not for new grads. Chances are you aren%26#039;t going to start off with a high paying job and Boston is a very expensive city to live in, Massachusetts in general is very expensive and is not well-suited for a new grad. student. My advice, work a couple of years, get some experience and get a higher paying job.|||The job market in Boston is great, however, it is also a very expensive city to live in. You%26#039;d have to know exactly what you are up against before you put yourself in financial stress. It can be difficult with a starting pay to make ends meet.

What is the easiest way to find a job when you have no work experience?

I am a 17 year old senior and I need a job to survive my senior year. I hve volenteered but I haven%26#039;t had any real work experience, and I don%26#039;t know how to look for a job.|||It depends on what sort of job you want. The first thing you should do no matter what job you want is write a resume. This is a list of the important things you%26#039;ve done in the past, like where you%26#039;re going to high school, any volunteering you%26#039;ve done, babysitting for neighbors, clubs you%26#039;re in at school, whatever. This will help let potential employers see what you%26#039;re good at, and see that you%26#039;re responsible.

If all you want is some easy cash, go to local fast food chains and retail stores. Bring a few copies of your resume, your learner%26#039;s permit (or other ID), a pen, and your schedule (so you know when you%26#039;re free) and tell them you%26#039;re looking for a part-time entry level job. Most will make you fill out some forms and they%26#039;ll call you back if they want to hire you.

You can also talk to your parents and family friends and see if their companies are hiring. Neighbors might want to hire babysitters or lawnmowers, and you can put up neighborhood ads to that effect. Or call a temp agency and see what they think you%26#039;re qualified for and they%26#039;ll help you find something.|||Try asking friends that work if there%26#039;s a position open where they are and if they can refer you, it helps alot to have good references. Also, you%26#039;ve volunteered, so that counts at someplaces at work experience. But just go up to the people working and ask for an application, fill it out, then if they need someone they%26#039;ll call back, and don%26#039;t be afraid of applying at a bunch of places; if you get offers at more than one place, you can always turn down ones you want to do less.|||Go to a place you really want to work at. Speak to the boss if you can, and tell him/her you are willing to work for nothing as a break-in period for a few days.

If they like you right off the bat, and need someone, they will be impressed with your attitude and will pay you. But make sure it is something you really, really want to do, otherwise you may find it hard to get out of bed in the morning.|||Chose anything you like to do.

Ask for a low income.

Convince the employer you are the man/woman for the job.|||Look for anywhere that is hiring that you think may meet your required income expectations apply there and when they ask why ( if they ask...) you%26#039;ve had no job experience because you were devoting your time to your studies because it%26#039;s important to focus on the tasks in front of you.|||My number one recommendation would be to ask family friends for administrative jobs.. like taking phone calls, filing, faxing etc.

Get a retail job. A lot of my friends in high school did this when we didn%26#039;t have experience. Put down your volunteer work and make your hours flexible - find out when it%26#039;s the busiest. My brother, who just graduated HS did this too.. working at GAP and American Eagle.|||fast food restaurants is a good option|||temp agencies can get you started, or apply for interships. won%26#039;t get paid but you can have some sort of work experience to make up a resume. need to have something set before you strike out in the real world for experience. even if it%26#039;s retail or something, you have to have something to show your work history.|||Go to any fast food restaurant you don%26#039;t need any experience.|||Try to get in on the ground floor at a big company. Many companies hire for mailroom positions or interns year round - and they hire regularly because they promote internally.

Insurance companies are good - but also try for office positions in chain stores like Target, Safeway, etc.

Good Luck!|||Temping is an excellent way to get hired quickly, gain experience and learn everything there is to know about office protocol.

NB: Use your volunteer experience to score yourself a job - don%26#039;t sell yourself short.

What job can i get if i am interested in fashion, hair, and makeup?

I love dressing myself up and doing my hair and makeup, so i want to head that direction in the future. But its hard to find a job that includes all three parts: clothes, hair and makeup. So anybody have any ideas on what kind of job there are?|||How old are you? I guess it kind of depends on your style. Be a business women..hehe.|||A stylist! I wanted to become like a person like you so was alwas thinking when i grow up that i%26#039;d have seperate jobs =)|||Fashion designers can style hair ,the makeup and fashion! So a fashion designer would be the perfect career to follow!|||you can be a personal stylist, a fashion editor for a magazine like Vogue or In Style, or even a fashion designer. But they all take a lot of drive and confidence because they are all very competitive careers. Good luck figuring it all out!|||you can become a personal designer of an actor or make out your on parlour . may it will be the first step towards success.|||Well, I%26#039;m not sure, but i think the fashion industry isn%26#039;t all that strong, so go into a profession for something else you can enjoy. You can rake in the money, and then do fashion, hair, and makeup on the side for kicks.

How long does it take to get a job after answering the ad?

I%26#039;d like to go back to work around the beginning of September. I am trying to figure out when I should start applying to jobs in order to get a job in the beginning of September. I don%26#039;t know how long HR people take to review resumes, conduct interviews, and notify people of being accepted. I hope this made sense; thanks for the help.|||I would say allow yourself a couple of weeks from the time you begin interviews to the time that you accept something. Set a date you want to begin work and negociate it if the employer wants you sooner or later, cross that bridge when you come to it. I would say that you give yourself enough time to attend interviews in your first week and either second interviews and hiring in the second week. If they need or require information from you it will give you time to get this together. Also, many employers require background and drug testing..this will allow time to complete this...Sooo..in a nutshell, plan to start working 2 weeks from the date you begin looking, but don%26#039;t look lightly...pound the pavement (or internet) sending out your resume!!!

Good Luck!|||I filled out an application and took the pre-employment test on Valentines Day, Feb 14Th...and I did not start the new job until April 30. There was a lot of other stuff other than the test... the interview, the psychological test, the drug test, the time they gave us to give notice, etc...|||Depends on how badly they need to fill the position and how many people apply.

Been my experience nost employers want positions filled in a couple of weeks|||Depends on the company and the job. Entry level retail will probably have someone hired within 2 weeks of posting an ad. Higher up positions and more technical positions - it%26#039;s not unusual for them to interview for 6 months or more.|||Some company%26#039;s you will work for answer earlier than others. What I would do is apply for them all, then state that you would like for them to consider you, but not for a few months.

How will a part time job affect the tax on my main job?

I%26#039;m starting a part time job to pay off some credit cards. How will this affect the tax I pay. The wages from the two jobs will not mean that I go in to the higher bracket. I heard from some one that you get penalised to taking two jobs, and the amount of tax you are charged means that it isn%26#039;t worth doing.|||you wont get penalised or pay any more tax than you should.

what happens is that your personal tax free allowance of £5225 for the current year will be used against your main job as this pays more.

when you start your second job, make sure you fill out a form P46 from your employers. this form gets sent to the Inland Revenue to inform them that you have 2 jobs.

your second job will be issued with a BR tax code, which means you will be taxed at 22% of all your earning from the second job.

this is correct because the way tax works is that no matter how many jobs you have, its all added together by the inland revenue and the tax due will be correct over the course of the tax year.

basically, if you didnt have the second and earnt the money that you would get from the second job, on top of your first job, you will still pay the same amount of tax.

all the revenue are doing is spliting the correct tax due over the 2 jobs,

yes it will seem like you are hardly earning anything from the second job because of the high tax, but it will be correct.|||The more you earn the more tax you pay. You dont get penalised as such but as where with the first job you get a personal allowance of about £5,000 before paying basic tax, with the part time job you will pay tax on every penny you earn xxx|||Hi,i found out the hard way when i was working full time my partner got put out of work.To help my supervisor got me over

time on double pay.I ended up losing nearly every penny %26amp; to cap that i was earning 99p over the limit so they would not give us any help with the morgage.i had no choice but to go on the sick ended up losing my job has I was too ashamed to go back.If you are going to end up with peanuts do not do it also you have to take into account the amount they will take off you for stamp.I found the stamp to be worse than the tax.Good Luck|||Your main job won%26#039;t be affected but you will pay the tax on all of your income on the part time job. So if you are in the 25% tax bracket on your first job, then 25% of all your part time pay will go to tax.

You are doing the right thing in trying to pay off those credit cards and at least whilst you are working, you are not spending.|||Both your jobs will be taxed seperately. Your second will attract the higher rate of tax and you will recieve seperate p45`s and p60`s so your main employer will not know of your second job.

Good luck

How do I get a job working for a major auto manufacturer?

I%26#039;ve tried the usual corporate websites going directly through HR. I have almost 15 years experience on the retail side of auto sales - I even had a regional sales manager for Nissan submit my resume to Nissan with a reference and didn%26#039;t even get a call! How do I get a job as a casual postal carrier?

I was told the post office isn%26#039;t having a test for full time mail carriers for a while, but I should look into casual work. My question is: How do I find out if they are hiring casual workers? The post office website never seems to update the job section. SHould I just walk into several post offices in my area and ask the manager? If anyone works for the post office and can give me any info, that would be great!|||It depends on where you live. If you live in a small town with only one post office I would go in and ask them, if that is not where you apply they should be able to tell you where. If you live in a big city then look in the phone book in the blue government pages. They should have a number listed for employment information. You will get a recorded message telling you what positions they are hiring for and where. At least that is the way it is in my district, but the city I live in is where the Post Office%26#039;s District offices are located. The country is split up into 90 different Post Office Districts, so each District may have a different method of doing it, I%26#039;m not sure. If you don%26#039;t find anything listed call 1-800-275-8777, they should be able to direct your call.

What job lets you travel around the world?

In the Philippines. Asides from being a pilot or a flight attendant, what other jobs let you travel the world. Or am I asking for too much? I really wanna see the world. Rio De Janeiro, Amsterdam, New York, Paris, Beijing.|||Umm, hate to tell you but everyone wishes they had a job that allowed them to just travel all the time lol. Traveling for business does allow you some free time though depending on what kind of business your in. I would say the closest thing I can think of to what your looking for would be some type of journalism, with alot of work you might be able to travel doing reviews on travel destinations and hotels and stuff, which would give you alot of time to see the world. Usually banquet servers only earn minimum wage or even less. But, at the end of the night, the service fee charged by the hotel is split among the people that worked. The percentage varies, but it%26#039;s not unusual to get $100 to $150 for 4 or 5 hours of work. At many hotels, you could do this every Fri %26amp; Sat night if you wanted to. How do you land a job as teen events coordinator on a cruise ship?

I heard that people as young as 19 can be in charge of the teen groups and events on cruises. Sounds cool. How do you get a job doing that?|||To apply for a job on the cruise line, you go to the site and at the bottom it will say careers. You click there and submit and application. The expected pay varies cruise line to cruise line and position to position. Obviously a person who is multi-lingual is preferred and if you interact with guests you are going to get paid more than the steward or wait staff who get paid primarily on tips.

They are going to require lots of years experience with children. Yes a 19 yo is an adult and therefore could apply for the job--however you would need at least 5 yrs experience working with youth. What can I get a job in the video game development industry?

I recently graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering, but now I realized that engineering isn%26#039;t what I want to do. I want actaully go into video game development. Where is a good place to start to %26quot;get my foot in the door%26quot;? Where should I find a job in the game industry? Where should I look?|||Gaming is a completely competitive field. You will want to enroll in art classes. Preferably 3d rendering and graphing. It is almost impossible to get into the door without having some sort of training or skill. i would look into smaller gaming companies, maybe even some start ups. Get a job doing whatever you can, even if its pushing papers or answering phones. Being in a creative environment and understanding your product is the first best thing to do .
