How does one get a job as a copy clerk at a paper such as the Chicago Tribune?

So many newspaper reporters have gotten %26quot;in%26quot; by starting as a copy clerk. Do copy clerks even exist anymore? Do you have to know someone (in the typical Chicago style of cronyism and nepotism) in order to get a job as a copy clerk at the Trib? Excuse my ignorance, and thanks.|||Mainly, the term Copy Clerks was used back in the 19th century when there wasn%26#039;t any copying machines, if an office wanted to keep a copy of an outgoing letter, a clerk had to write out the copy by hand.

Nowadays, just about anyone can operate the modern day copiers. Likely, the Tribune does have several openings for a variety of positions. Check their job ads or send a resume.

Good luck.
