How can I circumvent the online job application process?

It seems as though I never get a response to online applications. Can%26#039;t I apply for a job the old school way where you show up at the company and they give you the application? Our parents probably did it that way and they were able to establish a personal connection to the company.|||What you need to do is start networking with people.

The online jobs are real, but the people who get the first crack at the jobs are the people who know people. Talk to people, get to know them. Go on informational interviews and get your name out there. Collect people and you will find that jobs are much easier to come by.

Our parents did it, and so too should you.

It%26#039;s not the companies, but the job hunters who have gotten lazy.

It%26#039;s far easier to blast out 1000 resumes over the internet than it is to go and actually do the legwork.

ask around. Talk to people you know and ask them if they know anyone in the business. Set up informational interviews with people and ask them how to break into the business you want to get into. collect their business cards and send them periodic emails, cards, et cetera. Make friends.

Do these things and you will never want for a job.
