I am currently going to school for both, but have no previous experience in medical field. I am freaking out that I will never get a job once I get the certificates. Living in Chicago area.|||I have a lot of friends who were in medical school while I was attending law school and at least according to them, finding a job wasnt the difficult part of the whole process....it was getting the education itself. So perk up, there%26#039;s always jobs in the medical field and as long as you do well in your studies you should be just fine.....especially in a big a.ss city like Chicago. Maybe you can be Oprah%26#039;s own personal cardiology tech.|||The medical industry has huge potential for jobs. There is always demand. I wouldn%26#039;t worry too much-- get good grades, get some internship or volunteer.|||You should do just fine.
See what leads %26amp; introductions your school can make for you.
Check the classified ads to see how many offerings there are to get an idea of the job market.
May not get the job you want right out of school , but there are options.
One trend is for hospitals to take on per-diem workers ( no benefits as a sort of try before you buy) .
Can lead to a permanent position or maybe night %26amp; weekend on call .
There are plenty of %26quot;free-standing%26quot; cardio. clinics that have full time techs who float between affiliated offices.
Know techs who are freelancers that cover several doctor%26#039;s offices.
No benefits but they make up for it w/ higher salaries.
Also easier to make up their own work schedule %26amp; time off.
Live in NY area %26amp; there is actually a problem ( nice one for you) where docs are %26quot;raiding%26quot; hospitals for staff.
You will find your way.
