What information should I provide to a work-study job listing?
I am applying for a work-study position and it just says if interested email. What is the process? Is it like a regular job with resume, references, application, interview, etc? Is it pretty easy to get a work-study job on campus?|||Generally you must qualify (in terms of income/family income) to apply for a work-study post. If you do qualify, then apply just as you would a job. Write a cover letter, attach a resume, either list references or offer to provide them as requested. You will probably be interviewed. Basically, work-study is federal $$$ that%26#039;s available to a school for hiring students who qualify based upon income guidelines. Professors or university staff can hire on work-study students just as they would hire any students, but, in this case, the federal funds pay the student%26#039;s wage.|||Some schools have tons of work study jobs they can%26#039;t fill (usually because of not enough low income people attending the school). Other schools have very limited number of work study jobs (lots of low income folks) and lots of students returning from the previous semester so the jobs go to the upperclassman. Not sure which yours is... just make sure you are approved for Work Study money on your financial aid award letter. (Not everyone is). Before you go through all the trouble.
